As you are all aware the Privacy Act has arrived, RMA is committed to protect your privacy. The RMA Online Privacy Policy is specific to the RMA Web Site. The following information will help you as a member of the RMA to help you understand how we collect, use, distribute and the measures taken to protect your information. Your information is important to us as it is a vital component of our business processes and procedures.
RMA Web Site hosts chat and message boards for its members services, however as the Web Site is accessible by the public please be aware about the information disclosed by you.

About RMA
RMA is a collection of Professionals with an association to the Revenue Services or Rates Offices in Victoria. It was established as a medium for the exchange of ideas, a wider understanding of established practices and the ability to network with each other. It has now grown incorporating suppliers, contractors and other parties that assist in providing a wide variety of services.

If you want to apply for membership, we will need to collect some personal information from you.

However, there are limited circumstances where we may have to collect personal information about you from someone eg. A fellow member providing telephone or e mail details about another member.

We generally collect names, addresses, telephone numbers, e mail addresses, place of employment.

Your personal information is used to provide you information services, We also inform our members about the general uses of their information when we collect it and we will provide additional explanation if members request it.
Primarily, we will use your information to process your application and allow your fellow members access to the people involved in the RMA.
Your feedback
RMA may use your information to contact you in regards to ideas and suggestions that would assist in enhancing the quality of the website. These points of contact are used to assist RMA Web Site to progress in accordance to the member’s requirements.
Quality of the information
We use several methods of collecting your information, primarily through your membership applications, through fellow members and via internal monitoring in order to keep your information up to date.
We also ask you to contact us as soon as possible when your circumstances change eg change of telephone number, e-mail details.
Security of personal information
The security of your information is protected by only allowing access to your basic information on the website such as e mails and telephone details so your fellow members can contact you if required. Details such as your residential address are confidential and will not be published on the web.
Passwords, firewalls and virus protection are used to protect RMA systems from unauthorised access.
How long is the information kept
We keep your information for as long as necessary in order to service your membership. Upon cessation of your membership your information will be removed as soon as possible.
